In Q4 2022, sales are down in all the categories across the board compared to Q4 2021. This is due to the hikes in interest rates, which has created a pullback in consumer confidence. Less buyers are jumping in, or have simply been priced out. There has been a price drop, which is exactly what the Bank of Canada was hoping for by increasing interest rates: to slow the market down a bit. This isn’t something to be alarmed by, in fact it creates a lot of opportunities for buyers. We can now take our time, negotiate, and do proper due diligence.
